Character History
Born on the 10th of September 1976 to an Uratha mother and a spineless father. John’s mother continually broke the Oath by sleeping with her Uratha lover. The tribal elders tried to stop her by marrying her off to one of the wolf blooded, but he was soon cowered. She continued her affair, but had a child to her husband to placate her tribal elders.
That child was born a hairless albino. The Cahalith, after consulting the Ithaeur, said that she was being punished for continually breaking the Oath. John’s life wasn’t what you would call typical. When he was old enough, he began his instruction in what he needed to know about Uratha society, his place in it and the enemies he would face. By the time he was four, John was running around battlefields helping the medics. He was also getting some martial training. On his sixth birthday he was told his purpose in life. He was to take the killing blow for an Uratha.
John trained for years. He was trained mainly in martial prowess, with only minimal training in weapons and firearms. He studied his enemies, as well as the humans. Whilst not having a formal education, John was taught to read and write, but everything else is directed towards Uratha society.
By the time he was twelve John had fought in several minor skirmishes. The other Uratha looked after him and made sure he didn’t want for food. They trained him and tended to his wounds, his mother however didn’t do much for him. John was happy though, it was the only life he truly knew and he was given the freedom to do as he pleased. As he grew older he fought in more and more battles. On his fifteenth birthday he was taken to battle with some Pure. John was to just observe, to see what he would have to face. During the battle, John, from his vantage point noticed a Pure sneaking up on a wounded Storm Lord. Without thinking John started to move in, there was no way a Storm Lord was going to die, while he was there and still alive. The fight with the Pure was short and sweet. John caught it by complete surprise, and landed a few shots in before it responded. He then received a vicious slash across the belly, almost eviscerating him, but this was enough to alert the wounded Storm Lord.
When John came around, he was back at Cradle Mountain. He was thanked for his efforts. Once he was healthier his additional training started. He went up against Uratha in all forms, learning to fight them. In his next battle with the Pure John fared much better. In all his battles with the Pure though, he always came out badly. His throat has been slashed twice, left arm broken five times, right three, the main artery on his right leg was nicked, needless to say John has been very lucky and he is rather scar riddled. Besides the Pure, John has fought Azlu, Beshilu, various Ridden and even some human hunters.
In 2000 a pack known as the Tenders of the Flame put out a call. It seems that a curse had been lifted and that Victoria needed defenders. The elders told John that he was going, he was the only wolf blooded they had on hand. It was very unlikely that John would change, but he could at least look out for the new cubs.
Information Known by Uratha Society
Having come from the commune where he grew up, RamRaid doesn't know much about human society, except that he sees on tv. He can't read, doesn't have any 'human' identity and little concept of polite societies values.
RamRaid's views on the Pure have put him at odds with the majourity of Melbourne's Urthra. Also the fact that, with his pack alpha and Mick 'Goose Chase' Jones, they broke into 'Quick Stitches' clinic and killed the comatose Zi'ir, and then fought their way out again. Just recently there was a call out for a treaty to be made with the Pure. RamRaid and a few others thought that the Embalmer drug, and the spirits taking advantage of the situation. RamRaid took down the most spirits, and seperated two frenzying Urthra.
