[edit] Lex Magica

[edit] Consilium of Melbourne

[edit] 1840- 1901 The Silver Eon Cabal

Details of this Cabal’s stewardship of Melbourne is cloudy at best. They clamed to be a ancestral Cabal, more akin to a sub order of the Silver Ladder. In the early days the rule of this Cabal was absolute , there was no Council or Consilium administering the city.

[edit] 1903 – 1923 Yanos Moon – Moros, Silver Ladder

Yanos Moon forged an alliance of Cabals that forced the Silver Eon to relinquish their hold on the city. Yanos formed a council , and the political pressure from the other Cabals forced the Eon Mages to participate. Yano’s Council saw each of the Atlantean orders represented, though it’s sigil and charter is long lost. Yano’s council consisted of four councilors and the Hierarch who broke ties and had an executive veto over certain issues, such as war against external power, access to Hallows etc. Yanos also permitted representation in the form of a Free council representative, this representative was permitted a voice but not a vote on the council.

[edit] 1923-1950- Reign of the Free Council Assembly

The Free council ambassador manages to sway enough of the Councilors to remove Yanos on the pretense that he had fallen to a left handed path. They agitated for and managed to dissolve the Consilium and replaced it with an assembly of Sanctums. The Assembly was headed by a chairman , a member of the Free council, and operated completely by consensus vote by representatives of each Sanctum within the city.

[edit] 1973 – 1980 – Riso , Acanthus Mysterum

The Assembly fell into disarray after the Council wrestled for control with the Seers of the Throne. The seers were able to subvert several cabals against the Assembly which managed to see it crumble by the end of 1950. The next 20 years the Cabals of Melbourne operated in loose alliance but with no formal structure until the Magus known only as Riso enacted a reformation of the Consilium. The reformed Consilium based itself around the more traditional structure of 5 councilors, one representing each path. The Hierach generally sits for his path, and Free council councilors are tolerated if they agree to abide by any rulings of the council.

[edit] 1980 – 1996 – Serenity , Thyrsus Guardian of the Veil

Serenity of the Copper Midnight Lodge over saw the city during the hectic 1980s. Her reign saw the Council turn away from the sleepers a little, focusing on unraveling the mysteries of the Shadow and the Twilight. Serenity and her Cabal vanished in 1996 whilst investigating the mysterious area north West of the city known as the Wylds. The consilium passed a 4-0 vote, with 1 abstain, to forbid interaction with the Wylds without permission of the Consilium and Hierarch.

Councilors:
Gabriel : Acanthus (Guardian of the Veil)
Lucius: Mastigos (Silver Ladder)
Serenity: Thyrsus (Guardian of the Veil)

[edit] 1996- present – Lucius , Magistos Silver Ladder.

Lucius took over from Serenity in 1996, and has headed the council as Hierarch since. Lucius’s reign has seen a return to the more traditional applications of Lex Magica, as well as the beginning of the construction of a permanent sanctum for the Consilium to gather at.

Lucius ; Mastigos (Silver Ladder)
Galen : Obrimos (Free Council)
Mad Dan: Acanthus (Mysterium)
Shepherd: Thrysus (Mysterium)
Orpheus: Moros, (Guardian of the Veil)

[edit] Consilium of Lilydale

[edit] 2008 to present - Jeeves, Mastigos Guardian of the Veil.

Due to a disagreement with the Hierarch of the Consilium of Melbourne, Lucius, a major cabal primarily composed of Guardians of the Veil broke away with the intention to found their own Consilium.

Details are sketchy at this time and would need someone more familiar with things to fill in the details.

Jeeves: Mastigos (Guardian of the Veil)
